Résumé | In this contribution, we studied the influence of coarsening SDC powder on interaction with YSZ powder with the purpose to alleviate the interaction between selected electrolyte materials during the cell co-firing process. The main findings are that the heat treatment of SDC increases the temperature at which a new solid solution phase combining SDC and YSZ completely forms, that the bulk conductivity of SDC+YSZ pellets is positively impacted by the coarsening of SDC through heat treatment, and that the dense pellet of the new solid solution formed by the sintering of SDC+YSZ at 1500°C in air is not stable under a reducing atmosphere. Coarsening of SDC powder also led to a higher sintering temperature of the SDC+YSZ powder mixture. ©The Electrochemical Society. |
