Résumé | In 1996, the Institute for Research in Construction (IRC) at NRC published the IRC Internal Report 712 entitled "Review of Evacuation Strategies for Occupants with Disabilities". This report received substantial interest and numerous requests for copies by managers, educators, researchers and students, as well as members of the general public. In the year 2000, the English report and a French version were placed on NRC's website and could be downloaded for free. Since the initial literature review was conducted in 1995, it was felt that a new literature search should be conducted and an update of the report published. This actual report contains most of the information initially published in IRC Report 712 with a thorough update of thereferences, concepts and strategies currently discussed to plan the evacuation of occupants with disabilities in office, residential and public buildings. |
