Abstract | One of the primary considerations in the enclosure of an environment is the provision of a roof that will prevent the entrance of water. The use of waterproofing membrane is now common. This membrane depends upon its inherent waterproofing qualities to function effectively rather than upon the shedding principle which is used in shingle-type roofing. This report is a description of the nature of the materials exposed, their application and some results of a visual examination after one year of exposure in Ottawa. |
