Abstract | Time lapse photography used to collect data on patterns of artificial lighting use in a school classroom took one photograph every 6 min., recording the time of day, lighting power load and room occupancy. Lighting energy was used conservatively, the pattern of consumption following closely the occupancy of the room. Little use was made of the available selective switching. On many occasions the lack of solar control of windows required drawn curtains and artificial light. Cleaning operations required the use of little artificial light. |
