| Abstract | Frozen lakes and rivers are widely used in Canada for transportation purposes. It is therefore of great importance to determine the dependence of the bearing capacity of an ice cover on the physical properties of the ice. Those who use ice covers continuously for transportation purposes develop through experience a knowledge of the bearing capacity of frozen lakes and rivers. |
