Abstract	This paper describes the results of joint study by the authors and the researchers of Industrial Research Institute of Kochi, Oita and (Fukushima) Fukuoka prefecture. In order to try to manufacture a building material by means of carbonation of slaked lime, the influences of experimental factors on principle properties of the material were investigated. From this study, effects of mix proportion, moulding pressure and conditions of carbonization could be clarified and a possibility to make the building material was suggested.
