Abstract | TMT collected a large multi-dimensional data set of site characteristics at its five candidate sites. In order to make an informed site decision, this data set was reduced to a one dimensional metric, the site merit function. This paper describes examples of some of the coefficients of this merit function, with an emphasis on the interpretation of the results of such an approach and its limitations. © 2011: Instituto de Astronomía, UNAM - Astronomical Site Testing Data in Chile Ed.
