AbstractThe classical approach to the calculation of sound transmission loss through double-leaf walls is reformulated and various devices employed to reduce the resulting integrals to a tractable form for analytical solution. An approximation is made at low frequencies whereby, using a transform technique, the finite size of the wall may be included. Comparisons with experimental measurements show good agreement with theoretical predictions.
