AbstractA solenoid-operated acetylene gas valve with a photoelectric control is described. The battery-powered valve has very low current drain and can constructed cheaply as a small self-contained package unit. Switching action at dawn and dusk is instantaneous for fixed light levels, resulting in reduction in gas consumption.
