AbstractExperimental studies were carried out to determine the fire resistance of circular and square hollow structural steel columns filled with bar-reinforced concrete. The results of eight full-scale fire resistance tests are described. The main study variables were the column dimensions and the load intensity. These studies were conducted as part of a research program aimed at developing methods capable of predicting the fire resistance of concrete-filled hollow steel columns.
