Abstract | Activation measurements were made on the 2 3, 4 3 5 3 and 7 5 fractions on two samples as a function of carrier density. The carrier density was varied by the use of the persistent photoconductivity effect. The results confirm the importance of spin in the Fractional Quantum Hall Effect. The results are consistent with recent ground state polarity assignments. The data is also analyzed in terms of a phenomenological technique to extract the quasiparticle charge. © 1990. |
