Abstract | Permission was readily obtained from the Department of Public Works and the Post Office Department to take some wind pressure measurements on the Sir Alexander Campbell (or Post Office) Building at Confederation Heights in Ottawa. The first installation of equipment was made in September 1962. Shortly after that, the first good wind storm was experienced. During the following year, six storms occurred that had wind speeds considered worth recording. The results of this work, the lessons learned, and some ideas concerning future work are discussed in this first progress report. |
