AbstractPropeller-ice interaction data from six full scale trials have been re-analyzed from the original records of propeller shaft thrust and torque loads. The aim is to establish the magnitude of the loads and identify parametric trends. The six trials cover four vessels with ducted propellers and one with open propellers. The results of the analysis are compared to predictions made using model test results as a basis.
