Abstract | This report summarizes the work carried out by the Ocean Engineering Centre of B.C. Research Corporation, from the time it opened to the present. It was found that the majority of the work had been resistance experiments on surface ships, but the type of ship considered was quite different from other Canadian towing tanks. Recommendations are made for NRC sponsored research into marine hydrodynamics problems using the OEC. The two areas of specialization chosen were the dynamic stability of planing hulls in calm water and waves and the resistance of barges incorporating a three dimensional form factor. |
