AbstractThe simulation models for moored buoy systems are developed based on static analysis was incorporated into a combined current and wave model to simulate the moored buoy system behaviour for extreme conditions in a given sea state. The simulated buoy drift, cable configurations and tensions are representative of the system behaviour in wind, current and wave conditions. The simulation models were built around a Matlab user's approach with a liberty of buoy system components, with known properties, build in for easy reference. The models developed will provide a useful tool for the designer of such moored systems to assess its performance in varying, wind, current and wave conditions.
