AbstractSeveral small-scale test methods are available to determine the fire hazard of materials.Small-scale tests, however, do not always reflect full-scale fire behaviour. Over the last few years, a number of papers have been published regarding this relationship between small-scale and fullscale tests. This report critically reviews those publications and examines the National Fire Laboratory's test results in an attempt to find a method of classifying materials for their fire hazard. Two small-scale test methods (Cone and OSU) were evaluated and compared. A classification system, which relates cone calorimeter results to full-scale room burn results, is proposed
