Abstract | In investigations of electromagnetic wave scattering by targets, complete polarization data as described by the scattering matrix elements are scarce, especially for targets in the resonance region. This information is essential in areas such as remote sensing by radars and the general scattering theory. Numerical methods must deal sometimes with problems such as rapid fluctuations in the scattered fields amplitudes and phases, convergence, etc. Reliable experimental data are often necessary and useful in assessing the validity of a theoretical model. |
