Abstract | This report provides a detailed description of the work the author has completed during his Co-op work term at the Institute for Marine Dynamics in the summer of 2001. It also reveals the knowledge the author gains from this work experience. The main tasks of the author include the development of the PMM NavSim help web site, as well as the actual programming of PMM NavSim. In developing the help web site, HTML, DHTML and JavaScript are the key internet technologies used. Furthermore, three algorithms used in programming PMM NavSim are discussed. In addition, the techniques employed in installing PMM NavSim on a stand-alone computer are examined. Lastly, recommendations are given for the future development of the help web site, as well as the PMM NavSim program itself. |
