Abstract | To prevent reduction in the quality of masonry due to freezing at an early age, many specifications and codes of practice for brick masonry construction require that the temperature of the masonry be maintained above freezing for some time (usually at least 48 hours) after the brickwork is constructed to permit it to achieve resistance to damage before being frozen. |
