Abstract | This workshop was organized as a part of the post-Joint Research Project Arrangement (JRPA#6) work on ice class propeller design methodologies. Its intent was to facilitate an open discussion and exchange of ideas on the topics relevant to the development of regulations for ice class propellers and final shafting. An essential objective was to promote the use of the results of JRPA#6 and other recent work in the development of the propulsion system loads for ice class machinery. The workshop dealt with technical issues and with identifying the significance of technical issues in terms of the application of regulations. In the spirit of harmonization, a cooperative effort was made to identify and build on areas of common ground. This report presents a summary of the discussions of the agenda items. |
