Abstract
In the carrying out of surgical operations, anaesthetic gases such as ether, cyclopropane and ethylene are used. When combined with oxygen these anaesthetics form readily ignitable and explosive mixtures, thus constituting a hazard to the patient and to operating room personnel. This paper is a statement of the problem and a review of the more important information which has been obtained to this time with special reference to flooring material.
