AbstractResearch was performed on concrete columns reinforced with fibre-reinforced polymers (FRPs) to better understand their performance in building fires. The experiments consisted of fire tests on two full-scale, circular reinforced concrete columns that were strengthened with externally-bonded circumferential FRP materials. In addition, one of the two columns was provided with a supplemental fire protection system, applied to the exterior of the FRP strengthening system. The report describes the test procedures and results from these fire endurance experiments.
