Abstract | Photoelectric tracking is employed for automatic plotting of the course of a model ship undergoing trials in a manoeuvring basin. A light source mounted on the model is followed by two light-seeking telescopes, installed "on shore", whose direction is transmitted to the display by means of three-phase synchros. An electric "pen" is positioned on the display area to correspond to the model's position, which can then be marked on paper at regular intervals. |
