Abstract | Improving our understanding of the likely behaviour of occupants during an emergency is a key component of reducing fire risk. NRC-IRC researchers will discuss occupant behaviour in fire and how this information can be integrated into a building's design and operation. They will also discuss some typical occupant responses in fires and how these could be incorporated into strategies for ensuring the safety of occupants during fire emergencies as well as into the development of building emergency action plans. |
