Abstract | An axial-shear-flexure interaction (ASFI) approach is outlined that considers axial deformation, compatability and equilibrium conditions applicable to a displacement-based analysis of reinforced concrete elements. ASFI analytical results are compared with experimental data for five, rectangular reinforced concrete columns, a shear wall, a beam, and a one-bay frame with acceptable correlation. An appendix provides a case study of seismic response simulation for a reinforced concrete frame building with masonry infill walls subjected to the 2003 Bam (Iran) earthquake using OpenSees. |
