Abstract | The effect of evaporation parameters on the magnetic properties of evaporated NiFeCu films was studied experimentally. Films were deposited onto glass substrates heated to various temperatures, from a melt of constant Ni/Fe ratio and varying copper content. The effect of adding copper on the quantities Hc, Hk, and α90 similar to that of increasing the substrate temperature during deposition. Some magnetic properties are improved while others are degraded, and the evidence suggests that adding copper via the melt is of no advantage as far as computer memories are concerned. |
