AbstractIn order to determine the effectiveness of the various types of commercially available concrete sealers for traffic surfaces, 189 manufacturers and distributors were contacted soliciting information. Fifty-seven products of 49 companies were included in the test program. Altogether 12 generic groups were represented in the sample. All conrete sealers obtained for testing routinely had an infrared spectrum taken of the neat material; they were also analyzed by gas chromatography/mass spectroscopy and had their solids content determined by thermo-gravimetric analysis as well as by evaporation. These tests serve to identify the sealers for the present study or in future investigations.
