| Abstract | This paper summarizes the results of a comprehensive study carried out in cooperation with the School of Architecture at the University of Toronto. The author's comments on the procedure followed during the study are included along with a detailed check list developed to assist in the inspection of buildings of all types. This check list is intended to cover the aesthetic qualities of a building as well as the physical and functional performance. Its purpose is to encourage designers and owners to inspect and evaluate periodically, not only the performance of building materials, but also the building design in order to provide a background of factual information to aid in future designs. |
