AbstractExperimental and theoretical studies have been carried out to predict the fire resistance of hollow steel sections filled with various concrete types. This report deals with parametric studies on circular steel columns filled with steel-fibre reinforced concrete. Using a computer program, the influence of the various study variables on the fire resistance of these columns, namely, column section size, steel wall thickness, load, effective length of the column, concrete strength and type of aggregate, were investigated. The results are described and the influence of the various study variables is discussed.
