AbstractFour different techniques of modelling directional waves in the Offshore Engineering Basin have been investigated. In each case the mean angle of propagation was 20 and 35. Results showed that a wider spreading range is achievable when the mean angle was 35. Better matches to the spreading function are found when spreading is defined in terms of direction only. The energy spectrum showed very good matches between the target and theoretical spectra for all techniques used.
