AbstractAlthough still virtually unknown in Canada, vacuum insulation panels (VIP's) have thermal resistance values up to 10 times those of conventional insulation materials. This presentation will outline NRC-IRC studies on the performance and construction of VIPs, explain how they work, and demonstrate the challenges and advantages of using them in building construction.
