| Abstract | This report is primarily concerned with a limited field investigation of the consolidation characteristics of peat in situ. Due to the time element and to the limited physical resources available at the time of the investigation, it was not expected that an exhaustive treatment of the problem or any far-reaching conclusions could be provided. The investigation was necessarily of a pilot nature, designed primarily to test the feasibility of the approach. |
